Solupak, the future of environmental cleaning chemicals

Solupak, the future of environmental cleaning chemicals

By admin inBusiness Improvement, Eco, Sustainability

What is the future of environmental cleaning chemicals, and how can we aim for plastic reduction throughout our company? The simple answer to this is “change”, but not really changing….. let’s explain.

It’s no surprise that conventional cleaning chemicals use many resources to produce, contain, and distribute across the country. Shipped in a “ready to use” state where a super-concentrated chemical is watered down (sometimes by over 93%) before it arrives to you, after consuming a lot of Co2 in the process. Cleaning teams then use the chemical for its manufactured purpose before disposing of the container, often in general waste as they are not recyclable.

The change

The only change in switching to this sustainable and environmental alternative is to add water before you use it. Then, just like magic, this lightweight alternative produces a fragrant cleaning chemical that is just as effective as before, only with the added benefits of being 73% lighter in transport, using 96% less packaging, offering a 93% cost saving on transportation, and freeing up 96% more room in stock cupboards. Not only do the Solupak products reduce waste, a pressing issue today, but they also provide a positive change without increasing costs.

One tub of 100 sachets equates to 5 x 5 litres (25 litres of chemicals). Let’s put this into perspective as words don’t really do it justice.

A whole pallet of 5-litre liquid concentrate can be replaced with 4 packets. All of these 5-litre containers go into waste once they are finished and empty. Ask, ‘how many of these containers do we go through a year?’ and you will quickly be able to see the impact and benefits. All you need to do is add water.

This aims to reduce carbon emissions in transportation, reduce single-use plastics as all of their packaging is biodegradable, water-soluble, or fully recyclable.

About Solupak

From small beginnings in Yorkshire, where it was formed in 1998, Solupak has grown dramatically over the past two decades and now supplies its products to many businesses at home in the UK and abroad.

Solupak is committed to reducing the amount of plastic packaging and waste generated by industry. It produces products that use either fully recyclable plastic or water-soluble packaging, eradicating plastic. All products are approved by Cruelty-Free International and Ecolabel (where appropriate).
