Why Choose Eco Friendly Cleaning Products

Why Choose Eco Friendly Cleaning Products

Why Choose Eco-Friendly Cleaning Products?

Both consumers and businesses alike are taking the decision to incorporate eco-friendly “green” products into their cleaning inventory. One of the core reasons behind this is the increased information that is now available, and the education behind choosing eco-friendly products, how we now know they are beneficial for the environment, and how small changes to daily routines can make an enormous impact on protecting the global environment. Green cleaning products are a welcome change to cleaning and janitorial habits that we must all share.

Facts & Figures

Green cleaning is becoming an increasingly popular trend in both workplaces and households globally.  As consumers learn about the potential negative health and environmental impacts of conventional chemical cleaners, many are moving towards more sustainable options.  The market research firm Mintel recently revealed that eco-friendly cleaning products account for 30 per cent of the household cleaners’ market.  Research conducted by Digitsnmarkets.com shows surface cleaners are the largest product segment, reporting a share of more than 50% in 2018.

Definition of Eco-Friendly Cleaning?

So, what is eco-friendly cleaning?  Wikipedia describes it as, “the use of cleaning methods and products with environmentally friendly ingredients and procedures which are designed to preserve human health and environmental quality.  Techniques used in “green cleaning” avoid the use of products which contain toxic chemicals.”

Why Buy Eco-Friendly Cleaning Products?

By making the switch to eco-friendly cleaning products, you not only help the environment by reducing the air pollution impact, but you also ensure the disposal of the chemicals is safe for plants, animals, and humans. This is shown to slow climate change and is proven to reduce ozone damage. Buying eco-friendly cleaning products can also create a healthier indoor environment by improving the air quality, thereby lowering the health risks that a lot of traditional cleaning products containing toxins omit.
Changing to green cleaning products can also reduce health issues such as eye, respiratory or skins irritations and allergies, this is better for everyone.  Not only does making the eco-switch make sense to help people, but the Eco option can significantly lower your ongoing expense in exchange for a slightly higher outlay, known as a total cost of ownership (TCO). For example, buying a Toucan Eco sanitiser system will cost you more upfront, but once you have made that purchase, you will enjoy a more powerful surface disinfector than bleach for around £0.15p per litre of solution.
